Explore the grounds of the Shawnee Indian Mission with Mary Grinter, a Missouri Master Naturalist and graduate student of Indigenous ethnobotany. Grinter is a member of the Kansas Delaware Tribe and part-time employee at the Mission. She will lead participants along paved trails through the site, sharing how Indigenous peoples and pioneers depended on plants for food, medicine, and daily life during the mid-1800’s. Join us to discover how plants tell the stories of history, culture, and relationship to the land.
